What to Expect
After contacting North Counselling and Psychotherapy, one of our therapists will contact you either by phone or email to answer your questions or to arrange an inital session if you'd like.
The inital session serves to give you an opportunity to discuss with your therapist some brief history, your goals for counselling, and to ensure that your therapist is a good fit for you. From there, you and your therapist will develop a plan to reach your goals, complete with how often you'd like to meet for therapy
How much does it cost and how are fees covered/collected?
Sessions are typically 50 minutes long, and fees range between $120-$195/session depending on your therapist and the type of service provided. In most circumstances, we do not direct bill. Clients are responsible to cover the cost of session fees initially and submit their receipts for reimbursement. Fees are collected by e-transfer, credit card or cash at the end of each session.
Services provided by Registered Social Workers (MSW, RSW), are often covered by extended health benefits. Please be sure to check your employee benefits package to determine if your fees may be covered.
If you are a retired or active member of the Canadian Military or VAC, we are approved providers for psychotherapy with Medavie/Blue Cross and are able to direct bill.
If you are a University or College enrolled student, you may be eligible for coverage for psychotherapy as well. Please contact us to learn more.
