Registered Social Worker/Psychotherapist
When life challenges and stressors arise, we may need a caring and non-judgemental counsellor to assist us to process feelings, explore thought patterns and behaviours, learn new skills to cope, and/or gain a greater self-awareness.
As a registered Social Worker, I specialize in working with children (10+), youth, and young adults. I support clients who experience a wide variety of mental health challenges, such as overwhelming feelings of stress, sadness, anger, worry, loss, mood swings, low self-esteem, self-harm, and relationship conflict.
I believe in a compassionate, strength-based collaborative approach tailored to your particular concerns and needs.
My intention is to create a safe, inclusive, supportive, and trusting space that allows you to share your concerns as well as allow for self-exploration and growth.
I offer a client-centered approach using an eclectic evidence-based framework with an emphasis on trauma-informed care and attachment-based therapeutic approaches, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy skills (DBT), and solution-focused and mindfulness-based psychotherapies.
I have over 10 years experience working in social service settings and hold a Masters of Social Work degree (MSW) from Wilfrid Laurier University.
I look forward to working together to develop a plan of support that allows for meaningful work to overcome life challenges.
